The Center for Packaging and Unit Load Design at Virginia Tech is qualified to certify your packaging, and we can do it faster than any other lab out there! Our lab’s are qualified to conduct Amazon package testing and the Amazon FFP testing. We can help you become a vendor that meets Amazon’s FFP certification program!
To lower packaging waste and reduce its environmental footprint, Amazon has introduced the: Frustration Free Packaging (FFP) Program.
To ensure that all packages arrive to the customer without any damages, Amazon has partnered with the International Safe Transit Association (ISTA) to develop a comprehensive pre-shipment testing program. As of August 1st, 2019, all of your company’s packages must pass these tests in order to avoid paying extra fines and fees to Amazon.
To provide an incentive for companies to adopt the FFP, Amazon announced the Vendor Incentive Program. As part of the Vendor Incentive Program, all packages larger than 18″ x 14″ x 8″ or greater than 20 lbs and sold through Amazon need to be certified through the FFP program (either Tier 1 – FFP or Tier 2 -SIOC) by August 1, 2019.
Vendors who achieve certification before the deadline will receive an early adopter credit! However, any vendor using packages that are not FFP certified will be charged extra fees by Amazon.
Virginia Tech is certified to conduct all ISTA Amazon testing including: Project 6- Amazon – SCIO (A-G) and Project 6 – Over-boxing! Due to their extensive experience in distribution and protective packaging, our faculty and staff are also qualified to help improve your packaging so that it will pass the applicable Amazon testing!
Our lab’s turnaround time is only 2-3 days. Thus we can help you get certified FAST.
