Get Paid to Study with a Graduate Assistantship!
The Center for Packaging and Unit Load Design here at Virginia Tech offers multiple graduate assistantships each year. The Graduate Assistantship provides $22,000 annual stipend and fully covered Virginia Tech tuition. The duration of the Assistantship is two years for a Master student or three years for a Ph.D student. The work is financially sponsored by the members of Center for Packaging and Unit Load Design.
The graduate student will research a particular aspect of packaging, unit load designs, material handling and/or distribution systems. And, they will have the opportunity to gain practical industrial and management experience by working for the Center for Packaging and Unit Load Design as a Graduate Laboratory Manager. During this training, the graduate student is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the Center’s labs and for managing about 10 undergraduate students. This laboratory experience will provide essential industry connections because the Center works on more than 100 industrial projects for major corporations.
