Unit Load Design Testing Laboratory

Unit Load LabThe Center for Unit Load Design is located in the Corporate Research Park on the Virginia Tech campus. The 4000 ft² office and high bay laboratory facility is adjacent to the William H. Sardo Jr. Pallet & Container Research Laboratory.

The Unit Load Design Testing laboratory contains automated material handling equipment typically found in many automated warehouses, such as a dynamic storage rack, roller conveyors, chain conveyors, and a 4-deep glide rack system. New equipment is continuously being added.

The Center also houses a comprehensive packaging testing laboratory, including a flat bed compression tester, a hydraulic vibration table, a shock tester, a drop tester, and an incline/impact ramp tester.
