Preventing and Eliminating Mold on Hardwood Pallets: A Manufacturer's Perspective

(Held June 7 & 8, 2007)
Wood Education & Resource Center (WERC), Princeton, WV

About the Conference

The USDA Forest Service's Wood Education and Resource Center and Virginia Tech's Center for Unit Load Design co-sponsored a one-day conference (repeated a second day) that addressed all aspects of preventing and eliminating mold on hardwood pallets and lumber. This conference provided a consolidated and comprehensive educational curriculum designed to inform primarily eastern U.S. hardwood lumber and pallet manufacturers about mold related problems, the causes of mold growth on raw wood surfaces, and how to prevent and eliminate it.

For more information regarding this conference, including speaker presentations and general information about mold, please check out the conference website.

This site will be available for approximately one year after the conference. No additional mold conferences are planned at this time.

Please direct any questions or comments about the conference or website to Peter Hamner at phamner@vt.edu or 540-231-3043.
